Meet Diane
Before there was Little Keeper, there was a little girl who learned from her Grandma that the world becomes much bigger when you stop long enough to notice it.
The stories of Whispering Wood grew from real memories: quiet shorelines, small treasures, family traditions and a grown-up who always had enough time for one more question.

The beach at five o'clock in the morning
When Diane was young, she loved staying with her Grandma in Towyn, North Wales. Their favourite place was the beach, and their favourite time was 5am - a quiet hour that belonged only to them, even when Diane's brothers and sister were visiting too.
They would slip outside, take off their shoes and socks and walk through the little waves while the sea tickled their toes. Grandma carried a small basket for the treasures they found. After tea, every shell and sea-worn discovery came out again, ready to be noticed properly.
Stopping to hear the music
Grandma taught Diane to stop, look, listen and notice. One day, that stillness revealed birds, an aeroplane and a saxophonist playing outside a shop - music they might otherwise have passed by.
Kindness shown through deeds
Grandma quietly helped people and creatures whenever she noticed a need. She taught Diane that care should be thoughtful, practical and safe - a lesson carried into every Little Keeper story.
Memories becoming traditions
Each Christmas, Grandma made a fairy for the tree and entrusted it to one granddaughter on Boxing Day. Years later, one message between cousins brought those fairies - and a whole childhood of memories - vividly back.
Why these stories exist
While memories are kept alive and become traditions, loved ones are never far away.
Diane's books invite a new generation of Treasure Hunters and Adult Adventurers to make time together: to ask questions, share stories, care for the living world and create memories that may one day become traditions of their own.
